Daily Puzzles

One new biology puzzle every day, Wordle-style. Each puzzle rotates at local midnight, tracks your guess streak in your browser (no account needed), and is designed to take two to five minutes. Come back tomorrow for a fresh challenge.

Pick a puzzle

  • Peptidyle

    Deduce a pentapeptide sequence from color-coded feedback on each guess. Builds intuition for how amino-acid side chains drive protein chemistry.

    -> Play Peptidyle

  • Deletion mutants

    Work out the linear order of genes on a chromosome from a panel of overlapping deletion mutants. A classic genetics mapping puzzle.

    -> Play Deletion mutants

  • Mutant screen

    Reconstruct a metabolic pathway by scoring which auxotrophic mutants grow on which intermediates. Tests your complementation logic.

    -> Play Mutant screen

  • Biomacromolecules

    Identify whether a rendered chemical structure is a protein, nucleic acid, carbohydrate, or lipid. Fastest way to train your eye on macromolecule shape.

    -> Play Biomacromolecules

How it works

  • A fresh puzzle unlocks at local midnight each day.
  • Your streak, last-played date, and guess history are stored in your browser's local storage, so clearing site data will reset your stats.
  • Each puzzle has a built-in help panel. If the game area looks empty, open the "How to solve" section on that puzzle's page.
  • Puzzles are open-source teaching tools; see the Author page for credits and the License for reuse terms.
